Started as a myopia control clinic more than 10 years ago in Toorak Melbourne, Myopia Control Ortho- k Centre specializes in myopia progression control and special purpose custom contact lens fitting, including Ortho-k, scleral lenses and corneal RGP lenses. Our clinic has been relocated to 12/456 St Kilda Road since March 2021.
Following the success of Myopia Control Centre, with substantial investment in advanced technology, we have now introduced a new brand name Nusight™ Eye Cinic to reflect the wide range of eyecare services we provide. In addition to myopia control, Ortho-K and specialty contact lens fitting, we pride ourselves on the capacity to provide comprehensive assessment of the eye and accurately diagnose disorders affecting all parts of the eye. Patients who require surgical intervention can be referred to our network of reputable eye surgeons in a timely manner. We also offer emergency consultation to patients who suffer from sudden vision problem.
Dr Jimmy Huang is therapeutically endorsed optometrist, a certified Orthokeratologist, a member of IAOMC (International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control), and a member of the Cornea & Contact Lens Society of Australia. Jimmy worked as a Paediatrician in China before he moved to Australia. He has been a registered Optometrist in Australia for more than 20 years. Over the years, he has developed a special interest in myopia control and custom contact lens treatment such as Ortho-k and Scleral lenses. Dr Jimmy Huang has many years of experience working alongside corneal specialists and ophthalmic surgeons. He has become highly skilled in diagnosis, treatment, and co-management of many eye diseases.
Our investment in state-of-the-art Ophthalmic systems has equipped Dr. Huang with advanced diagnostic technologies for accurate diagnosis of various eye conditions. Our technology includes: Pentacam AXL for 3D cornea mapping; OCT for macular disease optic nerve disease such as glaucoma; Optos & FAF (Fundus autofluorescence) for retinal conditions such as retinal detachment or tear, diabetes retinopathy. Most importantly, we value each of our patient’s need and constantly update our practices based on the most current scientific research.
