Ortho-k

Ortho-k, also called orthokeratology, uses specially designed hard contact lenses - Ortho-K lenses, also called OK lenses, or night lenses to correct vision while you sleep. Ortho-K lenses are specially designed rigid gas permeable (RGP) contact lenses. When a patient wears the OK lenses overnight, the lenses gently reshape the front surface of the cornea. You will be able to see clearly after removing the lenses in the morning without glasses or contact lenses. The clear vision can generally last throughout the day.

Ortho-k treatment can benefit children as well as adults. When used in children, Ortho-K effectively controls myopia progression so that risk of high myopia is significantly reduced.

You may benefit from Ortho-K lenses if any of the following applies to you:

• Child Who Has Developed Early Onset of Myopia
  Ortho-K is scientifically proven to dramatically slow, or potentially halt the progression of myopia. It has a positive impact on the long term heath of a child's vision
• Play Sports - Especially Contact or Water Sports
  You can enjoy the freedom of playing sports without worrying about your glasses getting damaged or your contact lenses falling out. Ortho-K lenses are only worn at night while you sleep, leaving you with perfect vision during the day for any sports that you might enjoy, for example, footy, tennis, the swimming or surfing in the ocean etc.
• Work in Dusty Environment
  Dusty environments can wreck havoc on contact lenses and glasses. If you're a tradesman who needs to work in dusty working conditions, Ortho-K lenses will allow you to see clearly and get on with your jobs.
• Suffer from Dry Eyes
  Dry eye condition, caused by soft contact lens use, is exacerbated by extended computer use or air-conditioned environments. Ortho-K lenses, worn only during the night, give you excellent vision during the day and won’t cause dry eye like soft contact lens does.
• People Who simply Want the Freedom From Their Glasses or Day Wear Contact Lenses
